AI-assisted Pulmonary Nodule Detection with ALND

Myung Jin Chung, MD, Ph.D; Department of Radiology, Samsung Medical Center

Chest radiography is commonly performed for screening, diagnosis, and monitoring various pulmonary lesions. However, despite being a relatively fast, easily-accessible imaging method, lesions such as lung nodules are frequently missed during radiologists’ interpretation of the image, and up to 90% of pulmonary cancer diagnosis errors in radiology are made in radiography. To assist in these cases, some previous studies have demonstrated that the addition of a computer-assisted detection device (CADe) could potentially increase the detection accuracy of the general radiologists in finding lung nodules.

*Auto Lung Nodule Detection (ALND) is not commercially available in USA
